Carpet Cleaning and Rug Cleaning Training Event

By : July 28, 2008

We attended an awesome carpet cleaning and rug cleaning training event in Muskegon and Grand Rapids Michigan this week. Each day featured equipment, products and methods on display with time for in depth, hands on training.

Two day carpet cleaning certification course

Two days at a rug cleaning plant for in depth, hands on rug cleaning demonstrations, tips and training.

An impressive tour of Scott Group Custom Carpet Mill where they make custom wool, silk, and cashmere carpets and rugs for the airline and marine industries as well as very high end residential and commercial carpets and rugs. Following the custom carpets from design to the art of hand tufting, to completion was an incredible experience, not easily put into words.

A tour of DSC Laboratories to see how cleaning products are designed and blended.

Informative presentations by Shaw’s Cary Mitchell, IICRC President Ruth Travis, and IICRC Instructor Paul Lucas.

By : May 19, 2008

Mark Cermak and Andrechelle Cermak, have completed all requirements to receive their certification as MASTER TEXTILE CLEANER from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification.

Master level Certifications are only awarded to those carpet cleaners with years of experience, who attend classroom study and successfully pass the written examinations.

Not all carpet cleaners are dedicated enough to achieve this level of training and expertise. In fact, there are less than 1450 Master Textile Cleaners in the World, and only 3 in Northeast Ohio!

Carpet Cleaners Technical Conference 2008

By : May 18, 2008

We attended the annual Technical Conference for carpet cleaners in Florida last week. This was a very educational event with detailed information about recent changes and updates in our industry. The newest equipment and techniques were also on display.

We also attended the LMCCA Board of Directors meeting. A lot of the discussions revolved around the momentum gathering with “green” related issues and “health” related issues. Both of which are greatly enhanced by low moisture carpet cleaning systems. Now that it appears the world is beginning to recognize the potential “green” and “healthy” benefits of low moisture cleaning, it is thrilling to know that the LMCCA is leading the pack.

The LMCCA has grown to become the world’s largest international trade association for carpet cleaners, with more than 1,300 member locations.

It is incredibly exciting to be a part of an organization that is progressively growing by effectively working towards a meaningful mission. That mission is “to increase awareness and knowledge of low moisture carpet cleaning systems to gain world-wide acceptance of the viability of low-moisture carpet cleaning systems used by professional carpet cleaning technicians in order to provide the best possible carpet cleaning system as dictated by the carpet itself and the unique environment in which it is in service”.

It is both thrilling and inspiring to be part of this association.

Mark Cermak serves as LMCCA VP, chair of the E-Media Committee and Andrechelle Cermak as LMCCA Secretary.
