Yellow Spot Appears Days After Professional Carpet Cleaning

By : July 28, 2009

Got a call this afternoon from an upset customer that we had cleaned carpet for 10 days ago.

She complained of a yellowish spot that had just “appeared” in the last few days and was worried that it had happened outside our “7 day spot free guarantee”. (We were shocked as it was the first complaint, call back, re-do that we’ve had in the 5 years we’ve run this company, since we started in 2004.) She was very upset.

Emergency Upholstery Cleaning at the Q

Emergency Upholstery Cleaning at the Q

Spent the day at the “Q” (Quicken Loans Arena) in downtown Cleveland cleaning carpet and 8 cotton sofas in order to have them ready before the big Cavs Play-Off party tonight.

These white cotton sofas got soaked out in the rain (during an NBA event in another city), and then loaded into protective cases and loaded onto a semi trailer for transport to the Cavs party in Cleveland at the Q. They called us while on the road and told us what had happened and the urgent nature of the situation.

No problem, EcoClean to the rescue!

We were in the parking garage at the Q waiting for the truck to arrive. We then helped the loading dock crew setup and unload the 8 sofas and several sections of carpet into a reserved section of the parking garage (directly across from LeBrons parking spot).

Upon inspection, these white Haitian cotton sofas had turned brown with severe water stains and had begun to smell (still wet). The carpet was also soaking wet, as it was under the sofas, at this outdoor NBA event. We cleaned the carpet and set up high velocity carpet drying vortex. We proceeded to restore and speed dry each and every cotton sofa, back to a clean, dry and brilliant white again. By the time we finished restoring the last sofa, all the carpet was completely dry. No odor issues and in better condition than before they were caught in the rain. Most importantly, the client was absolutely thrilled with the result.

We worked extremely hard all day with no breaks, but it was all well worth it. An hour or so before the event, the event staff was setting up the sofas and carpet to be used for the event.

We had “back stage passes” and stayed until right before the start of the event. We have a big day cleaning carpet in Mentor and Painesville tomorrow so we headed back to the shop to prep the cleaning van for the next job(s).

GO CAVS!!

Choosing Your Carpet Cleaner

By : January 28, 2009

Top 10 points to consider when hiring a carpet cleaner, rug cleaner or upholstery cleaner.

Not all carpet cleaners are the same. Choosing a professional carpet cleaner is a much more involved decision than you may realize. Carpet cleaning is an unregulated industry with far too many unscrupulous individuals posing as professionals. A very small percentage of carpet cleaners are actually even trained and certified to clean carpet, not to mention upholstery or any other surface in your home or business.

It is very important that you find a professional cleaner who …

Carpet Cleaning and Kawasaki Syndrome – No Proven Link

By : January 3, 2009

EcoClean always takes every precaution in protecting you, your family, your home environment, and our staff from exposure to any possible health risks.

There is no proven link between Kawasaki Syndrome and carpet cleaning. But it would be best to take safety precautions such as having children or pets stay off the carpet until it is completely dry.

D-I-Y or Professional Carpet Cleaning

By : June 14, 2008

What is the difference between DIY (do it yourself) and professional carpet cleaning? There are big differences in the soil removal capability among extractors. Models that people rent or purchase are often designed for removing surface soil. The carpet’s appearance may improve, but deep embedded soil remains. Over time, this build-up may greatly affect a [...]
